They say lightening never strikes the same place twice but it happened today for Oklahoma and Hurricane Skylar Thompson is to blame.

Last season, the Wildcats stunned the Sooners 48-41 behind a monster game from Thompson. The K-State quarterback scored four rushing touchdowns while passing for 213 yards.

Earlier today, it was more of the same as Thompson passed for 334 yards and one touchdown on 18-of-25 passing. He also carried the ball nine times and produced a rushing touchdown hat trick with three on the day.

Meanwhile, OU quarterback Spencer Rattler was 30-of-41 passing for 387 yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately, he also threw three interceptions. It’s a devastating blow to Oklahoma not only in the early Big 12 standings but also could derail the Sooners’ playoff hopes as well. Oklahoma still has some major issues on defense and the Sooners blew a 21-point lead in the third quarter. Yikes.

The upset of the No. 3 Sooners sets up for an interesting afternoon and evening of football. No. 8 Auburn held off Kentucky, 29-13 earlier today while No. 5 Florida outlasted Ole Miss in a bit of a shootout, 51-35.

As of right now, No. 4 Georgia is at Arkansas and struggling mightily, down 7-3, in the final minutes of the first half. No. 6 LSU trails Mississippi State at halftime, 17-14. No. 12 Miami hosts Florida State later tonight.

I have a feeling that top 10 is going to look awfully different when the new poll is released on Sunday.
