Big news broke tonight out of Clemson as wide out Justyn Ross, who exploded on the scene as a freshman and then missed the entire 2020 season as he recovered from surgery to correct a congenital fusion in his spine, will return for his senior campaign in 2021.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney expressed on more than one occasion this season how pleased he was with Ross and his rehab. The junior WR was active in practice except for contact drills and is on pace to hopefully make an an improbable return to the playing field and be cleared for full contact by next fall.

It’s an enormous get for Clemson QB D.J. Uiagalelei who takes over for the departed Trevor Lawrence. Joining a WR unit that was banged up throughout 2020, Ross will have no shortage of talent around him with Joseph Ngata, Frank Ladson, E.J. Williams and Ajou Ajou. Early enrollees Troy Stellato and Beaux Collins could also work their way into the rotation.

Clemson nation quickly took to social media to celebrate the news of Ross’ return. It’s a big win for the Clemson Tigers as they seek to make another college football playoff run and secure the Tigers’ seventh straight ACC football championship. The 2021 season opener against Georgia in Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium is going to be a whale of a game.
